WQD (We Quit Drinking) is an online community dedicated to quitting the booze. Going strong since 2003, the site adds six to ten new members every day, hosts close to 500,000 postings, a plethora of diaries and blogs, various non-public sub-realms such as a quitting section for members of the military or underage drinkers.

WQD is not designed and intended to be a standalone solution but one tool in a larger scheme of approaches to quit a dependency to alcohol. It provides the social and communal support while offering the anonymity and comfort zone of an online forum.

WQD is approach and school agnostic, open to and used by practitioners of many quitting methodologies from AA and 12-step to Carr and pharmaceutical approaches.

congrats on helping people stop drinking. What a wonderful way to help. I’m asking for help myself. So right now I can’t pledge anything for you. But once this nightmare of mine ends I promise I will be back to help you out. I’m adding you as a contact so I can come back and donate. Keep up the good work.

WQD is amazing. It has the best group of members I can imagine and it continues to churn out some deep wisdom. It’s a place to check, if I do say so myself.

WQD seems to attract people who are trying to decide if they need help with a drinking problem. Some people are cautious about committing to a step or rehabilitation program. They have questions. They need a source for advice and then a place to journal their progress.

WQD filled a void I was looking for.
